Oh. My. Goodness. It's the last day of the challenge! Today's question prompts me to write about anything that I want to write about, so I thought it'd be the perfect post to reflect on how this 30 Days of Blogging challenge has been for me.

               First off, I just want to check in with you guys. How are you doing? I'm feeling great! The  past 30 days have been a little crazy for me, blog wise. Being at home on Christmas Break made doing this challenge pretty easy because I didn't have much else to do, but being back at school makes writing blog posts and getting them up on time just a little difficult. It was also quite the switch for me, being a new blogger and going from putting up a post once a week to putting up a post every day for a month. However, the experience has been fun and I've enjoyed answering these questions. This challenge is something that I think I'll definitely do again and I've actually learned a few things from it:

• Scheduling posts ahead of time is essential, especially for daily bloggers. I mean, scheduling posts is important for every type of blogger, but being a daily blogger can be a daunting task when you get behind on scheduling your posts.
• Scheduling posts to share on social media is also very important. I started using Hootsuite to do this and so far, I really like it. 
• I need a camera ASAP! I want to start creating better graphics for this site. Right now, I feel like my graphics for my blog posts are just okay, but I want to be a bit more creative. The problem is that the only camera I have is my phone camera, which isn't bad, but it's also not the best. It's time to start investing in my blog. 

               Setting goals is something that I'm very fond of. There's nothing more satisfying than setting goals and after a lot of hard work, finally reaching those goals. However, the important thing about setting goals is making sure that those goals are realistic and achievable. With that being said, here are my goals for the next 30 days:

Blog Goals

• Finish scheduling posts for the next couple of months.
• Start a Facebook Fan Page for this blog (maybe; I'm still not sure on this one).

               Today's question asks me to talk about what things I wish for at 11:11. To be honest, I don't really make wishes at 11:11. Also, is it 11:11 AM or PM? That's probably a stupid question, but I honestly don't know the answer. However, I can tell you what I would wish for... world peace! Just kidding. I mean, yes, I do want world peace. Who doesn't? But I wouldn't wish for something so typical. I'd make it personal. I would wish for faith and confidence to keep going hard at everything I do. I would wish for strength to fight through obstacles instead of hiding from them, and to encourage others to do the same thing.

               I'll admit that I'm not really sure why today's question asks for a picture of my handwriting, but here it is. I'm a lefty and anyone who writes with their left hand will tell you that at times, it sucks! You get pencil/pen markings all over your pinky finger and it's just a mess. But overall, I think my handwriting is pretty legible and I guess that's all that matters. As a person who would rather type her notes than write them by hand, I'm actually surprised that I can read my own handwriting.

               I love those "warm & fuzzy" feelings you get when you're around the people you care about. I live for those moments and here are some things that make me feel that way:

• Genuine Smiles & Conversation - I love when people ask me how my day is going and they actually want to know the answer. More importantly, I love when I'm around people who I feel comfortable enough with to give an honest answer to. 
• Hugs & Kisses - I know it's kind of mushy and a little cliche, but who doesn't love hugs and kisses? Actually, I used to hate being touched by people, but things have changed. I have a friend who is a very physical person and I think she rubbed off on me  because now I love giving and receiving hugs. Sometimes, when life is getting you down, all you need is a gentle and comforting embrace from someone who cares about you and can tell you that everything is going to be okay. 
• Hand-Written Notes - I never get tired of them. My friend (the really physical one that I mentioned a minute ago) wrote me a page-long note for Valentine's Day last year. It was typed instead of hand-written, but it was still touching and brought me to tears. Sometimes, it's weird seeing yourself from a friend's point of view; it makes you feel special. I remember being in 8th grade and I was in a community theatre production of Grease. The entire cast wrote these cute little hand-written notes to each other to let everyone know how much we appreciate their hard work and dedication to the show. I still have every single one of those notes. 

             
               Today's question asks me a very interesting question that may be hard for some people to answer, but I found it quite easy: Would you rather date a plain person with an amazing personality or someone beautiful with a plain personality?

               If by definition, the word "plain" means someone who might not be so easy on the eyes, but they have an amazing sense of humor and I can have a good time with that person, then sign me up! I've never been one of those high maintenance girls who needs a supermodel to be happy in a relationship. If that's what you like, then go ahead and do you, but I'm attracted to personalities. I've met some beautiful people that would easily put me to shame even on my best days, but if there's no personality or no spark there, then the relationship won't mean much to me. If a person who seems "plain" wants to change their looks, then they can because looks change all the time. But if someone has an amazing personality and they know it, they should keep it.

               I am so random, it actually scares me sometimes. There are a lot of thoughts that run through my mind and I have to ask myself how that thought even occurred to me. But out of all of the crazy thoughts that I have, here are the things I think about the most:

• What I'm going to eat during the day - Food is on my mind basically all day every day... like right now...
• Songs that I've heard that I want to download
• Starting a YouTube channel - I'm pretty sure that I'm a certified YouTube addict, so it makes since...right?
• If what I'm doing at the moment is productive - Thanks to blogging and Pinterest, I'm always finding ways to stay productive and not waste time. 
• Outfit ideas - Again, thank you, blogging and Pinterest.
• What my friends are doing - I'm very close to the friends I've made in college and now that I know what it's like to have true friends that genuinely care about me, I try to show my friends love as much as I can because they mean the world to me. 
• Blogging/Pinterest/Social Media - This one actually might be the winner. I get so excited and optimistic when I think about blogging and where I may be with blogging even a year from now. 

               Today is Thursday, which means that it's a pretty short day for me because I only have two classes to go to. I have an Intro to Music class and then I have a Voice class and that's it! Then I get to relax and enjoy the day! Most of the classes within my major are very physical, meaning that I'm most likely going to be sweating a lot and I have to dress accordingly. This usually means no skirts, no heels, and definitely no skinny jeans, which are all things that I actually like to wear.  This semester alone, I'm taking an acting class, a movement class, and a voice class. These are all physically draining courses and they're all at least two hours (my acting class is 3 hours long and meets twice a week).  Needless to say, because of the physicality of these courses, I do NOT feel bad about not going to the gym as much this semester. However, not being able to get all dressed up for class doesn't necessarily mean that you have to bum it to class every day. There are plenty of ways that you can dress appropriately for a physically active class and still look cute. With that being said, here's my OOTD!



Leggings: Citi Trends - $8 (I think; I know they were cheaper than $10)
T-Shirt: Wal-Mart - $5
Cardigan: Wal-Mart - $15
Boots: Target - $40(ish)
Accessories: H&M (I don't know how much all of these were, but I know that they were really cheap because they were all on clearance and they're very old. I'm not sure if H&M still has them)

               As you can see, all of my clothes for this outfit are very reasonably priced. Obviously, I'm not going to wear anything remotely expensive if there's a possibility of it getting ruined in class. Comment down below and let me know what you think of today's OOTD.                Well, this is interesting. I don't take too much time to think about the answer to this question, so this is going to be fun, so let's get started!

TURN ONS:

• Sense of humor - This is definitely one of the most important things I look for in someone. I love to laugh and one of my goals for 2015 is to find ways to laugh more. If I can spend time with someone and they can make me laugh (which isn't hard), I find that person so much more attractive than I may have when I first met them. 
• Passion - I love passionate people. I want someone who has something in this world that they truly love. I don't care about what it is, necessarily. I don't care if they want to perform magic tricks out of peoples' garages for a living. If they're passionate about what they're doing, I'm down! I want someone I can go on adventures with.  Some people are completely content being where they are, doing the same thing every day and they have no complaints about it. If that's what truly makes you happy, then go for it; I would never try to stop anyone from doing what makes them happy. But that's not what I want. 
• Open-Mindedness - It's really hard for me to put up with rude people and their ignorance. If there's something that I don't understand, I ask about it respectfully and I would like the person I'm with to do the same. 

               Oh my God, yes! I think education is super important! I know that everyone may not agree with this, but I can say that as a current college student, my education has been incredibly worth it so far. I wouldn't be in college with an increasing about of student loans if I didn't think education was important. But even without a college degree, I think it's important to try to increase your knowledge of things that you're passionate about, despite whether or not you're pursuing a degree in those things. Never stop learning. Honestly, it's actually pretty impossible to NOT learn new things because you learn something new every day.
               Personally, I love college! It has been an incredible experience thus far finding out what I really want to do in my future career and taking the risks to make those things happen. I also just love the college experience. I love meeting new people from all over the world and having the opportunities to study abroad and become a part of great organizations on and off campus. Just as there are things that can only be learned from real-life experiences, there are also things that can only be learned from college experiences and I really appreciate that and I don't take it for granted.

               It's no secret that I love traveling and I have a list of places that I'd love to go. Ironically, I haven't actually been that far. All of the places I've lived in my life have all been in the great ol' state of Illinois.
               I was born in Chicago, Illinois, but I moved to the Quad Cities when I was about three years old. The Quad Cities (QC) is basically an area made up of four major counties consisting of about 5 cities on the borders of Illinois and Iowa (with a whole bunch of other smaller and more rural cities scattered around there, too). It's actually pretty convenient; I can get from where I live in Illinois to the urban parts of Iowa in less than 20 minutes if traffic isn't bad. Almost everywhere I've lived since moving from Chicago has been in the Quad City Area. Within the QCA, I've lived in East Moline, Silvis, Moline, and then back to East Moline. I'm aware that most people have no idea where on the map that is, but that's where I'm from. I currently live in Dekalb, Illinois, where I'm attending university.
               I used to feel kind of trapped in the Quad Cities before coming to college because I felt like the area was so small and I wanted to be in a more urban environment. But being away from the QC kind of makes me miss it. I love my university, but the city my university is in is smaller than the QC and makes me miss some of the convenient places in the QC that they don't have here in Dekalb. Nonetheless, I love being where I am... for now.

               Oh. My. God. Where do I begin? My TV obsessions are always changing because I can never finish an entire series before I become obsessed with another one. But I'm going to go with The Office because I spent most of my Christmas Break (and about a month before that) binge watching it on Netflix and it has changed my life. It's definitely given me unrealistic expectations on what working in  an office is like.
              As I've mentioned in previous blog posts, on multiple occasions, a professor would be explaining a concept to the class and show a clip from The Office to further explain that concept. The thing about The Office is that it's a comedy that depicts (hopefully) unrealistic office scenarios, but there are actually lessons that can be learned, usually through the mistakes of Michael Scott and Dwight Schrute.

PS - I didn't mention this in the post because I only wanted to focus on one show, but I'm finally caught up on Scandal and it's freaking crazy! Seriously, watch this show! You won't regret it. 

               I know that it's getting a little late for a 2014 recap, seeing as how pretty much every other blogger has done that already, but this is today's question, so I'm sticking to it. This past year has definitely been interesting, to say the least, but it's had its share of ups and downs.

HIGHS

• I auditioned and was accepted into the Bachelor of Fine Arts Acting program at my university. 
• As of last semester, my GPA reached its highest point, which was awesome! 
• I starred in multiple performances at my university (one I volunteered to perform in), which is something I hadn't done since middle school. 
• I FINALLY got my braces. I know that most people would complain about having braces, but when you're in college and you've struggled with having bad your entire life, braces feel like a gift from God. 
• I got a new TV. I know this isn't really important and is kind of materialistic, but I just got it and I'm still excited about it!
• I grew as close as I could ever be to my close-knit group of college friends.
• My brother (kind of', we're not related) is currently attending college with me. 

               I chose this question for today specifically because I remember having a conversation with a friend of mine about mainstream music, which he tries to stray away from. He doesn't personally have anything against mainstream music, but he thinks that it all sounds the same and that mainstream artists are losing more and more of their originality. I, on the other hand, disagree. I love all music; I don't care if it's underground music or mainstream music.
               I believe in being unique and creative and being yourself. Being different or straying away from what's perceived as normal can be great because it shows that we all have something unique to bring to the table. But it seems to me that everyone wants to either be a hipster who doesn't like anything modern or anything perceived as "normal" or to be a mainstream person who is trendy and tries to keep up with the latest fashion, entertainment, and technology. What about people who are a little bit of both? It's these labels that put people into unnecessary categories that we shouldn't be worried about. We should just focus on being ourselves. If you like mainstream music, that's fine and if you like to stick to strictly underground music, that's fine too. Don't feel like you need to put yourself into a category or stick to certain stereotypes within that category. And if you're like me and listen to any and everything under the sun, that's great too.

               I was a rather mischievous child who had a lot of time on her hands. One day, I had a little bit too much time on my hands because it was a snow day. I was about 8 years old and I had just discovered how much fun it was to go sledding outside and I thought that it'd be cool if I could find a way to slide around indoors, too. Without thinking, I grabbed some non-stick cooking spray out of the only cabinet that I could reach and sprayed it all over the hard-wood kitchen floor. Like, ALL over that bad boy. I spent about an hour in the kitchen sliding around on the floor, but then my mom woke up and wanted to cook dinner. She walked into the kitchen and slipped and fell to the ground instantly and I thought it was hilarious! Unfortunately, she didn't think that and decided to take away my toys and my TV. Needless to say, I didn't find it so hilarious after that.

               Oh. Crap. Today's post prompts me to tell you guys three things that I should probably keep to myself. But because this is a challenge, after all, so let's get started.

• I sleep with 3 stuffed Disney animals every night. I can't help it; they're so cute and they're incredibly comfortable. My friend worked at Disney World a couple of summers ago and got them for me and I will forever appreciate him for that. 
• I've never seen Star Wars of Star Trek. This may not seem like a big deal, but I have a lot of friends who are Sci-Fi fanatics and they look down on me for this fact. 
• I've seen The Human Centipede... multiple times. I know, I know; it's so gross and demented! A friend challenged me to watch it and so I did. It's not that I actually like anything going on in that movie, but I just find it interesting in a weird, gory kind of way. If you don't know what movie I'm talking about, don't look it up. 

               I love quotes. Like a lot of people on Pinterest, I have an entire board dedicated to them. Because of this reason, it's nearly impossible to pick one favorite quote, but there is definitely one that sticks out to me more than others.

"It's kind of fun to do the impossible" - Walt Disney

               I'm definitely a Disney girl. I was practically raised on Disney movies alone, so this quote has a very special place in my heart. More importantly, this quote will forever be relevant. I truly believe that you can "speak" things into existence IF you put in the effort. If you believe in something, affirm it, then ACT towards whatever your affirmation is, it can happen. But you have to actively work towards your goal; believing that something is going to happen and saying that something is going to happen isn't enough. You have to fight through whatever obstacles come your way. If you fall down, then get back up. The failure isn't in falling down, it's in staying down and refusing to get back up. What you thought was impossible can be a wonderful reality. Walt Disney knew that and it shows in all of his movies.

               Well, hello there, beautiful people! Today's question has to deal with food, so I'm all for it! I love food, but if I could only eat one thing for the rest of my life, it'd be mac & cheese! Seriously, it doesn't matter what brand of mac & cheese it is, I'll eat it. A lot of people have a sweet tooth and tend to eat too many cookies or pieces of cake, but I love the starchy carbs... which are just as bad, actually. Anyone who has ever met me will tell you that I can't go without it; it's a serious problem. For my birthday, one of my best friends got me a book about blogging... and some mac & cheese and I will love her forever for it! And now I'm hungry. So there's that...

               Well, hello there, beautiful people! I'm excited about today's post because it allows me to do something that we all inevitably do, even though it's not really a good thing to do this all the time: complain! I can tolerate a lot, I'd like to think, though some would disagree with me. I'll admit that I'm not the most patient person ever and I may forget to turn on my filter every once in a while, but for the most part, I can tolerate a lot. But I've got pet peeves just like the next person, so with that being said, let's get started!

Closing the ***damn door (*Brenden Urie voice for all of you Panic At The Disco fans out there*) 
This never happens at school, but when I'm home, it happens all the time! People will come into my room to ask a rather meaningless question, then leave it wide open when they leave. And forget about knocking first; that just doesn't exist at home... even when you're in the bathroom, sometimes.

Slow walkers
I usually walk to class just because I don't have the patience to deal with the overcrowded buses on campus. There is nothing more irritating that being on a busy sidewalk when you're in a rush to get to class and the person in front of you is walking like they're awaiting their death by beheading at the guillotine or something. I understand that it's 9AM and no one is particularly ecstatic to get to class that early, but I don't have all day!

"K"
Why do people do this? Just... why? "K" is such a horrible response. "K" lets me know that you didn't even bother to read my text, even if it wasn't necessarily important. "K" tells me that we need to evaluate our friendship (just kidding).

Eating with Invisalign braces
I'm well aware that not everyone can relate to me on this one, but as much as I love Invisalign, eating can be a hassle sometimes. It can be irritating to have to take your Invisalign trays out of your mouth every time you eat, especially if you're in public. On the other hand, this does prevent me from snacking unnecessarily, so never mind, I guess.

               Those are just a few of my pet peeves that I thought of first. Believe me, I have a lot more, but I'm sure you have more important things to do that to read about what my pet peeves are. I do, however, want to know what your pet peeves are, so let me know in the comments below!

               Well, hello there, beautiful people! This question is REALLY hard to answer, mostly because I feel as if I'm never fully satisfied. I'm not saying that I'm ungrateful or that I don't appreciate my life, but I feel as if I'm always working towards bettering my life so that I can get to the point of satisfaction.

               I remember the summer before my first year of college and I was so happy. I had just graduated high school and I got to spend the entire summer with my friends, I had just visited New York City, and I was excited to start my new life in college. Everything just seemed to be going right and I was completely satisfied with my life. Since college, a lot of things have changed, for better and for worse, but that's just how life after high school is sometimes. In college, you may lose contact with some of your old high school friends, your beliefs may be questioned and challenged, and as you grow into an adult, you start to figure out the things you like and don't like about yourself. Life gets freaking hard. So you have to try to figure out how to be happy now during this weird phase in life. At least, that's what I'm doing..

               To be honest, I don't know if I can say that I'm completely satisfied with life right now because there's so much more in life that I want to achieve. I can, however, say that for now, I can't complain about my life. Sure, things go wrong and there are challenges that I face from time to time. No one's life is perfect, but for now, I can't complain and I couldn't say that a year ago, so that's progress. I'm constantly motivated to better myself when I think about the woman I may be 5 years from now, or even 2 years from now. I feel content with life when I think about the future of this blog or the moment I'll be able to walk across the stage getting my degree or the places I'll go or the people I'll meet or the future of the friendships that I have already. Knowing that I'm still in the beginning phases of having the satisfying life that I want lets me know that I still have a lot to learn, and that motivates me to work harder. All of the experiences that I may have now are leading up to me being able to say that I love the woman I am because I worked hard to become her.

               Well, hello there, beautiful people! I've come to the realization that I've only been doing this challenge for 7 days and it really is starting to feel like a challenge, indeed, but it's okay. I'm still not used to blogging every day, but I know I'll get there. As you can tell by the title of this post, I'll be talking about my favorite books today. I actually wasn't a huge fan of reading when I was a kid; I just used to read because in middle school and in high school, we were required to read for 15 minutes each day. But now, I love to read and I'm happy to share some of my favorite books with you guys, so let's get started.

Outliers: The Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell
I'm currently reading this book (for the second time) and it's one of the most interesting books I've read in my entire life. The first time I read this book was after my senior year of high school when I was taking a summer Sociology course and I remember being completely mind- blown. The book talks about how real success is achieved and how sometimes, success doesn't have much to do with an individual's IQ or how hard they work, but instead, success is achieved by opportunities that are only available to a handful of people. It also talks about how what seems like normal life coincidences are actually patterns that we, as humans would never think twice about. It's incredibly interesting and I highly recommend this book.

Divergent by Veronica Roth
I haven't finished this book yet, but I'm very excited to get to the end! I'm currently listening to this book on Audible, Listening to books as opposed to reading them is very new to me, but I'm starting to really like it. It's actually really convenient to have a book to listen to when you're doing chores or something that you don't need to focus very heavily on. I got the book for free when I signed up for Audible using an affiliate link from one of my favorite YouTubers, The Nive Nulls (tons of YouTubers have this  link, by the way). Like I said, I haven't finished the book yet so there's not much I can say about it yet, but so far, I'm loving it.

Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James
I know that there's a little bit of controversy surrounding this book. A lot of people that I've talked to about this novel think that it's all about sex, which there is a lot of, but there's a lot more to the book than that. A few people have also told me that the BDSM aspect of the book is all wrong (which apparently angered a lot of people) but honestly, that's not something I'm going to talk about in this blog post... or any other blog post. I've read the first two novels in the series and I'll be starting the third one after I finish reading Outliers. If you can get past all the explicit material in the novel, you'll see that it's actually pretty interesting and the drama is intense! The second novel will seriously have you feeling every emotion possible. It's also fun knowing that the novel is a Twilight fan-fiction, so when you're reading it, you can kind of tell what characters in the novel were inspired by characters from Twilight. Also, the 50 Shades of Grey film is FINALLY being released this year and I'm super jazzed!

               So those are just a few of my favorite books. I still haven't read The Fault in our Stars or Maze Runner yet (I know, I'm so behind), but they're next on my long list of novels I haven't come close to reading yet.                Well, hello there, beautiful people! I had to think really long and hard about the answer to this question. I could ramble on and on about how much I love Beyonce or Maroon 5 or  Panic At The Disco and what not, but the question asked what band I think is important (which they all are), but one band sticks out to me.

               I love group, Pentatonix! They are my life! They're a five person a capella group (and I have so much respect for a capella groups) that won season 3 of The Sing-Off. I never watched the show, but I now know that I should have and I might go back and watch some of it. The first time I'd heard of Pentatonix was Spring semester of last year when I was browsing YouTube and I saw their music video for one of my favorite songs, "Can't Hold Us" and I fell in love! I then went to their official YouTube page and watched every single one of their music videos and I was blown away by their talent. They also have a vlog channel, which I love, because you really get to see the personalities of each of the group members and they're freaking hilarious!
               Though their cover songs are great, Pentatonix is starting to transition to creating original music, which is awesome. Through their music and their YouTube channels, I've become so inspired by this group. They send such a great message out into the world about chasing your dreams and this group is definitely a living, breathing replication of that message. Did I mention how hilarious they were? Mitch Grassi and Scott Hoying are two of the vocalists in the group and they have their own YouTube channel called Superfruit. They've done collab videos with a ton of awesome YouTubers, including Tyler Oakley (who you all should know by now is my queen) and Todrick Hall. Personally, I think it'd be awesome if they did a collab with Jenna Marbles, but that's not up to me.

               Well, hello there, beautiful people! As you can tell by the title of this post, I'm going to be talking about the places that I'd like to go, which is something I hadn't put much thought into before. I never used to want to travel when I was a kid; I was very lazy and content being exactly where I was. I used to just want to make enough money to move into the nicer houses down the street from where I lived. But since I started doing a little bit of traveling, I try to take as many opportunities as I can to go on adventures and see all of the sights. With that being said, these are the places I'd like to go.

The UK
Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hiddleston, Martin Freeman... need I go on? The UK is the birthplace of some of the most talented creative artists that I've ever seen. Even as an unadventurous little girl, I'd always wanted to visit the UK (Harry Potter had something to do with this, I'm sure). I love the accents, culture, and classiness that's associated with the UK and I would love to experience that in person.

Canada
I've been wanting to travel to Canada for a while now, and I have absolutely no idea why. It just seems like a nice place to go to and it's been on my mind since I was 14 and got addicted to Degrassi: The Next Generation, which takes place in Canada. Anyone else remember Degrassi? I don't watch it anymore, but I know there's like, a million seasons of that show.

Australia
Australia is the home of my bae, Troye Sivan. Enough said (just kidding...kind of). But Australia, like the UK, is one of those places that has always intrigued me.

Moscow
I'll admit, I never gave Moscow a thought until the opportunity arose for me to go. The theatre department at my university allows all Junior BFA Acting students to spend a semester abroad in Moscow, Russia during the fall semester to study at the Moscow Art Theatre School. All of my friends who studied abroad told me that they loved the experience and that makes me super jazzed to go!

Los Angeles
No, LA isn't another country, but it's a place in the US that I eventually want to live in and I haven't been there... yet. About a week ago, my older cousin moved to sunny LA with her boyfriend and I might be spending Spring Break there (fingers crossed). I also have another cousin who is moving to LA in a few months to pursue his education in film and the excitement around that makes me want to go there. I'm a person whose energy can be easily be influenced by the weather and in LA, the weather is awesome! I'm from the Midwest, so LA would be heaven for me! Not to mention the fact that most of my favorite YouTubers live in LA.

Well, hello there, beautiful people! Today's question asks about something that I'm pretty sure none of us think enough about. So let's get to it!

Explain your day in great detail. (This is why today's post went up so late.)

Today, I woke up around 9 AM to the realization that I hadn't paid my phone bill yet. So there's that...
I stayed in my bed for an additional two hours (as I normally do on weekends) watching YouTube videos and laughing hysterically because Tyler Oakley is hilarious. I normally have choir practice at my church on Saturday afternoons, but it was cancelled today because of the weather (It's snowing outside and the streets are covered in ice). So instead, I ran some errands.
My friends at school got me the most awesome Christmas gifts before we all left for Christmas Break, and I had yet to get them one. So today, I decided to catch all of the After-Christmas sales and pick up a few things for them. I'm so excited about the gifts I got for them, but of course, I can't talk about it in this post (just in case they read the blog).
After coming home, I did a couple loads of laundry... exciting, right? (No.) and watched Scandal on Netflix (this went on for about 5-ish hours and will probably continue for the rest of the night).

As you can see, I really don't have much of a life. Like, at all, but that's okay. I know that once school starts back up again, I'll be wishing that I could do basically nothing all day :-) Comment below and let me know if your life is remotely more interesting than mine, which it probably is.

               Well, hello there, beautiful people! Today's question is one that we've all been asked since high school and I think it's time I seriously think about the answer to it.

Where would you like to be in 10 years?

               In 10 years, I'll be 31 years old, so it's kind of hard to think of every little thing that I'd like to be doing with my life by then. Honestly, I just want to be happy. I know that's such a cliche thing to say, but it's so true! There's really no way to know exactly what I'll be doing in 10 years because life happens and plans can change, but whatever it is that I'm doing, I want to be happy doing it. For the most part, I know that there are certain events that I want to have happened in the next 10 (ish) years and they are as follows (in no particular order):

• Marriage - Yesterday, I talked about how being single can be a good thing, but by age 31, I think I would like to be married (or at least be making wedding arrangements). 
• Travelling - Like most people, I would love to travel and see the world while I'm young and don't really have any commitments. 
• Theatre - As an Acting major, it's pretty unrealistic to know exactly what job I'll have 10 years from now, but whatever that job is, I want it to be in theatre. 
• Children - I would absolutely LOVE to have kids! I'm not sure how many kids I'll have by age 31, but I would at least like to have one.  
• New York - Ever since I was a kid, I've wanted to live in the Big Apple, But I'm aware that as I travel, this may change. For now, I still love New York. 
• Family Vlog Chanel - I freaking love family vloggers! I spend most of my time on YouTube watching vloggers like The Nive Nulls, Samika Vlogs, The Shaytards, April Justin TV, Gabe Babe TV... just... a lot of people. Like, a lot. I would love to be a part of that community. 
• Blogging - Of course I will still be blogging! It's what I love doing and in 10 years, I will have learned how to do it so much better. 

               

               Well, hello there, beautiful people! If you read Monday's post, you'll remember me talking about how I wanted to kick off the new year on this blog by doing the 30 Days of Blogging Challenge. By doing this, I plan on 1) finding ways to get better at blogging and 2) sharing more of my life with you guys. I'm really excited about this year so I wanted to start it off by doing what I love, which is blogging! For those of you who don't know what the 30 Days of Blogging Challenge is, it's basically a challenge that's put in place for bloggers (or any writers, really) to consistently post content every day for 30 days straight. There are a ton of variations to this challenge and they all come with a variety of different questions. The questions I will be answering come from two different blogging challenges: one from the 30 Day Challenge found on KatyWidrick.com, and the other one I randomly found on Pinterest (I tried to find the original source of this challenge, but I came up empty).  With that being said, let's get started!

Day 1: Your current relationship. If single, discuss how single life is.

               If I would have been asked this question about a year ago, I would have tried to avoid answering it by any means necessary. I was single then and I'm still single now, but my views on single life have changed drastically since then. As someone who has never been in a serious relationship before, I used to hate being single. Last year, one of my best friends got in a serious relationship and I kept wondering when it was going to happen for me.
               Within this past year, I've realized that now is the time for me to figure my life out before I get serious about sharing my life with another person. Now is the time that I need to focus on doing what I love and finding out what makes me happy. I recently read an article by Megan Sweet of HerCampus.com called"Why You Shouldn't Worry if You've Never Dated Anyone" and it was a HUGE eye opener for me (HerCampus.com has a lot of helpful articles like this one).
               If you feel upset about the fact that you've never been in a relationship before, it's okay. I feel the exact same way from time to time because after a while, being single gets really lonely. Sometimes, it can be hard seeing other couples so happy and in love when you can't share those same experiences. But I've learned that focusing on my own happiness really helps me understand the person I am, and that can be a strong foundation for figuring out the person I want to become. That way, when the right person comes along, I'll know exactly what my standards are and I'll know if that person meets them.
               It's easy to feel like everyone else is doing better than you are and our millennial generation is so competitive, we can't help but compare ourselves to other people, but we need to stop doing that. We're beautiful and awesome and unless we feel that way about ourselves, we can't expect other people to.
